What Information Is Needed for a Modular Belt Quote?
Learn how to prepare dimensions, product, load, speed, temperature, cleaning and existing-system data for a faster modular belt quotation.
Why does a modular belt quotation require technical information?
A modular belt cannot be quoted reliably from metres, square metres or width alone. Two belts with the same dimensions may require different surfaces, materials, load capacity, temperature capability, sprocket arrangements or conveyor geometry. A useful quotation process therefore begins by defining the application.
1. Belt width and conveyor length
Provide the required belt width and, where possible, the total existing belt length. For a new conveyor, centre distance, drive and idle shaft positions and a layout drawing are helpful. Dimensions in millimetres reduce ambiguity.
2. Conveyed product information
State the product, its dimensions, individual weight, maximum total load on the belt and the surface that contacts the belt. Food products, cartons, metal components and small packages create very different conveying requirements.
3. Line speed and throughput
If belt speed is known, provide it in metres per minute; otherwise provide products per minute or hour. Indicate whether the line runs continuously, frequently starts and stops, or accumulates products. These details influence mechanical assessment.
4. Temperature and operating environment
Provide minimum and maximum temperature, wet or dry conditions, washdown frequency, chemical exposure and outdoor operation where relevant. If cleaning water is hotter than the process temperature, include that value as well.
5. Inclines, curves and transfers
If the conveyor is not straight, provide incline angle or elevation difference, approximate curve radius and direction, and transfer gaps. For small or unstable products, these points can be more critical than the basic belt width.
6. Photos and component information for an existing conveyor
For a replacement belt, useful photos include the belt's top surface and underside connection, drive sprockets, shafts, support strips and the area where problems occur. Include any readable belt code or dimensional information. A single distant photo is not always enough for identification.
7. Required delivery and project timing
If you have a planned maintenance shutdown, new-line commissioning date or critical delivery requirement, include it in the request so the technical and commercial evaluation can be considered together with the project schedule.
Quick quotation checklist
- Belt width and length

- Inclines, curves and transfer points
- Photos, drawings and current component information
- Contact details and project timeline
You can still contact Bilge Kalıp if some of this information is not yet available. Missing technical data can be clarified during the discussion. However, the more accurate the initial information, the faster and more useful the modular belt quotation can be prepared.
